Rites of Passage

African-Centered 'Rites of Passage' is a ritualized process whereby members of a particular society engage in African, cultural-centered, age set development (from birth the death) with the community to cultivate and develop the initiate into a whole person (Slater-Sa-Ra, 2021).

African-Centered ‘Rites of Passage’ is concerned with the development of the whole person through understanding age-grade responsibilities in each critical stage of development (Slater-Sa-Ra, 2021).

African Men and Women have gendered role responsibilities in the community to ensure its optimal functioning and the survival of the nation-state (Slater-Sa-Ra, 2021).
